Chettinad Academy of Research and Education (CARE) was Deemed to be University u/s 3 of the UGC Act 1956 in the year 2008 and since then, it has been contributing significantly to the society as an Institute for higher learning and research in the field of Medicine, Allied Health Sciences and Nursing.
CARE has been approved by MCI, INC, TNNMC, AICTE, COA, BCI and PCI, accredited with grade 'A++' by NAAC, conferred with 12B status by UGC, accorded SIRO status by DSIR, awarded a star by MHRD’s Innovation Cell, appreciated by AICTE for Clean & Smart Campus and ranks 9th in the Country according to UI Green Metric.
CARE offers 74 Academic programs in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (AHS), Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Architecture, Commerce and Law. Most of the programmes offered are interdisciplinary and are as per the emerging needs. Currently, CARE has about 2500+ students pursuing their UG, PG and Ph.D. education.

Chettinad institute of occupational therapy and research equips students to empower people of all ages with physical, sensory, or cognitive problems to regain autonomy in all aspects of their lives – emotional, physical and social – using everyday therapies, activities and exercises.
The Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) is a three-year undergraduate degree program that provides students with a strong foundation in commerce, finance, accounting, and business management.
The Faculty of Computer Science offers innovative, industry-aligned education in computing and IT. It emphasizes academic excellence, practical skills, and emerging technologies.
(3 years + 1-year Internship) (Semester pattern - 7th&8thSemester Internship period) This program provides hands-on training to students along with a solid foundation in science and enables them to assist confidently in technology-driven medical procedures. With the enormous development in the healthcare industry, these graduates will be in demand both within the country and overseas as Medical Technologists. Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) is a four-and-half-year undergraduate program designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of rehabilitative medicine. The program concentrates on imparting practical expertise on the subjects including Exercise therapy, Electrotherapy, Radiology & Imaging Technology, Orthopaedics & Traumatology, and General Medicine. The aim of the program is to train students at an advanced level on core physiotherapeutic skills such as therapeutic exercises and the application of electro-physical modalities which can cure a range of diseases and disabilities related to back spine, neck, shoulder, and legs.
Age limit: Must be over 17 years of age as on Current academic year-end.
Educational Qualification: Passed the Higher Secondary Examination (HSC) or its equivalent with English, Physics, Chemistry and one of the following subjects: Botany, Zoology or Biology.
Bachelor in Occupational Therapy is an undergraduate 4 years 6 month's program divided into 8 semesters with 6 months of internship. It is a much in-demand global healthcare profession that trains in assessment and intervention, to recover, progress, or maintain meaningful activities, or occupations, of individuals, groups, or communities through therapy, exercise and activities.
